By Richard Rawls
Well yeah, I'm common. I'm so common I will even tell perfect strangers I have an irritable bowel. OK, it sounds better to say I have IBS. If you have the same problem, you know what it means. If you DO have the same problem and don't know what to do about it, get this product. It's the same as Imodiom AD, but a LOT cheaper. For me its a miracle drug. I have to take two every day, so I need a source at a good price and this can't be beat....Richard.

By R. A. McDowell
I'm severely ill, and almost ALL food makes me sick. I can eat, but I'm sick anywhere between 4 and 20 hours afterwards, depending on what I eat. Imodium was a life saver to me, but was costing a fortune. We were paying $15 a box for 72 tablets. My doctor told me that the active ingredient in Imodium was Loperamide, and that I should try to find it generically, cheaper. I searched, and found this stuff. MUCH cheaper, but there were warnings about it making the symptoms worse if you had problems with lactose (Dairy), which I do. But I was desperate, and so I tried it out. It worked EXACTLY the same for me, except I no longer had to just take 2 in an effort to conserve money. My doctors have me taking 2 every 30 minutes while the symptoms are persisting, which for me is pretty much always. But this stuff helps. And yeah, I've tried to see what not taking them does. The degree by which this lessens my problem is easily a factor of 10. I won't be ashamed of my illness because I'm dying. I have severe nerve damage, and that means incontinence and diarrhea, more often than not. If ONE person can be helped by my honesty, then it's okay, I can swallow that embarrassment. This helps me immeasurably. By taking it 30 minutes before I eat, and then every 30 minutes afterward until my stomach settles (Loperamide slows stomach motility, so it calms irritable bowel and slows diarrhea enough for the intestines to absorb more liquid.), it helps me beyond words. Now, the average Joe of course should NOT take that much of this medicine. I'm just stating my situation so that people will know that even with problems as severe as mine, this stuff works. If you're searching for relief, this stuff works. One of my doctors said; "This stuff can't hurt you. At worst it does nothing, but at best, who knows, maybe it will help." And help it did. If you're searching for help, then at this price, giving it a try is certainly a viable option. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Thank you so much for your time folks. Sincerely, R.A. McDowell

By Steven Weigand
While I was shopping at Walmart once, I saw the Equate brand of loperamide come down in cost fairly close to this Kirkland's product. They had a 2 pack of the 96-count for around $4 if I recall correctly. But now they've jacked that price up quite a bit, and I suspect they'll lower the price again when they have a promotion. This Kirkland's brand is the best price at this time. And as others have already said, it's the same stuff as what you get in Immodium A-D, but costs more than 10 times less than Immodium. Most of you who do not have IBS or some other chronic condition will not need this much product. Traveler's diarrhea can be helped with this, but I found that it didn't work very well for me in my trip to China. If you're worried about getting traveler's diarrhea, you should ask your doctor for some antibiotic pills to take with you on your trip. I'd also take probiotic pills with you - the best one that I know of being the Align probiotic pill. And maybe think about buying a water bottle with a built-in filtration system. Or maybe a UV light wand for sterilizing water. If you have IBS-D, follow your doctor's advice of course. I inquired about loperamide, and apparently there are no long-term safety issues with taking this everyday. That could change, though, so keep your eyes open. Some people take an entire day's dosage in one gulp. Others spread it out through the day. I think it's better to do the latter. You need to find out what works for you. Start with maybe one or two pills before each meal and see how that works. If you're too constipated, remove a pill or two and see how that goes. One other thing. You can take calcium carbonate pills (like Tums) to achieve a similar result. Calcium absorbs the liquids in your intestine, thereby making your stool more solid. It's just that you'll need to eat about a dozen Tums with each meal. Who wants to do that?
